Department of Sanskrit established in the year 1994, is one of the initial Departments of the College with a Bachelor of Arts course with Sanskrit as one of the elective subjects. The Department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty with a vision to impart the knowledge of Sanskrit literature as based on values of Ethic and morality capable of providing right grooming and holistic development of the students. The faculty is striving hard to motivate more and more students to learn Sanskrit and attain greater understanding of different areas of Sanskrit literature and Shastras.
At Present the department has the strength of 31 students in DSC and DSE courses, 250 in AECC and 98 students in GE courses.

Strength:
- Highly qualified and experienced faculty.

Weaknesses:
- Insufficiency of faculty.
- Insufficient classrooms.
Opportunities:
- Counselling sessions to motivate students to study Sanskrit.

- E- resource center in the college library for e-learning.
Challenges:
- Lesser enrollment in the subject.
- Poor background of students (both academic and economic).
- Lacking awareness for Sanskrit subject.
