Profile
Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1994 at the time of inception of the college itself with the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science as one of the elective subject. Over the years since the inception of the college, the department has grown in tune with the demands of the institution and improved its strength. As of today, Department of Mathematics is one of the servicing department which impart sound knowledge in mathematics. Two faculty members are working in the department of mathematics.
At present Department of Mathematics offers under graduate programme of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with Mathematics.
At present the department has the strength of 300 appearing students in B.A./B.S.C. Mathematics.
- Name of the department : Mathematics

SWOC analysis of the department & Future plans
Strength:
-
The department has highly dedicated experience and qualified faculty who
are available to the students throughout the year in person.
-
High quality study material authored by subject experts are provided to
students.
- The library has enough books and space.
- Actively participation of faculty in various college committees.
- Enrollment of students is good.
Weaknesses:
- There is no separate department room.
- Not active participation of the students in the various activities.
- Poor result of the subject of first year.
- Faculty members are less so students teacher ratio is inappropriate.
Opportunities:
- To start various certificate course in basic of mathematics.
-
With development of more infrastructures P.G. classes in mathematics can be
run which will be more beneficial for the students who are unable to go
university and seek admission.
Challenges:
- To increase students strength in the department of mathematics.
-
The diversion or students to professional course has led to less inclination
towords basic science course.
-
There is lack of sufficient number of quality students with strong interest
in mathematics.
-
To remove phobia about subject and to create interest among the students to
learn fundamental concepts of mathematics with joy.
Future Plans
- To start certificate courses.
- To organize national level seminars/ workshop.
- To arrange guest lecturers of experts in various fields.
-
To start some activity that is beneficial for society i.e awareness about
“Yoga” etc.
