DISTRICT LEVEL PRE-RD SELECTION CAMP

On September 28, 2023, a district-level Pre-RD Camp was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Government College, Paonta Sahib. This camp brought together selfless volunteers from various colleges across the district. This year, only Female volunteers will be selected to participate in the State Pre-RD Selection Camp, which will be organized at Government College Bilaspur.

Participating colleges in this camp included Government College Sangrah, Government Postgraduate College Nahan, Government Sanskrit College Nahan, Government College Kafota, Government College Bharli, and Government College Paonta Sahib. The program commenced at 11:00 AM with Professor Nandini Kanwar, the program officer of the National Service Scheme, leading the proceedings.

Jai Chand, the NSS District Nodal Officer welcomed Dr. Vibhav Kumar Shukla Principal Govt Degree College Paonta Sahib and other dignitaries from outside the college, along with officials from the National Service Scheme unit of various participating colleges, and extended a warm welcome and congratulations to the participants.

During the camp, sixteen selfless volunteers from these colleges actively participated. They engaged in various activities, including Parade, Physical fitness assessments, Cultural performances, and Interviews. Based on their performance in these activities, four volunteers, namely Ishika and Preeti from Government Postgraduate College Nahan and Meenakshi and Diksha Devi from Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Government Postgraduate College Paonta Sahib, were selected.

In addition to the competition and evaluation, the camp also featured a parade and a fitness assessment conducted by Lance Head Constable Pramod Kumar from the Sixth Indian Reserve Police Battalion, Dhaula kuan. The camp saw the presence of Shri Chandra Prakash Pathik from Government College Sangrah, Shri Vinod Sharma, the Superintendent, Dr. Kanta Chauhan from Bharli College, and others who played important roles in the decision-making process.

The program concluded with a Himachali folk dance presented by local unit students and the singing of the national anthem, marking the end of the district-level Pre-RD Camp.
