2023-08-15 INDEPENDENCE WEEK REPORT

Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji Govt College Paonta Sahib marked India's 77th Independence Day with an Independence Week celebration spanning from August 8th to August 15th, 2023. This event was organized collaboratively by the college's NSS, NCC, and Road Safety Club OF THE COLLEGE.

Throughout the week, from August 8th to August 10th, a series of competitions were held, including Declamation, Poster Making, Card Making, Poem Recitation, and Group Song, fostering creative expression and camaraderie among students.

On August 12th, the college hosted a cultural event that showcased India's rich diversity and vibrant culture, emphasizing unity in diversity.

Finally, on August 15th, volunteers enthusiastically participated in a parade ceremony as part of the Independence Day Function, organized by government authorities, held at the Municipal Committee ground, commemorating India's hard-earned freedom.



On August 8th, 2023, a compelling Declamation Contest, centered around the theme "Taking Pride in our Legacy," took place with great enthusiasm. Prof. Nandini Kanwar, NSS Programme Officer, warmly greeted the judges, participants, and fellow students at the event. The esteemed panel of judges included Dr. Khatri Ram Tomar, Prof. Nandini Kanwar herself, and Prof. Sheetal Sharma, all of whom added a touch of distinction to the event.

Students, with eloquence and passion, delivered their perspectives on the importance of taking pride in our legacy. Their speeches wove a tapestry of wisdom and insight, highlighting our collective responsibility to honor our past, nurture our present, and sculpt a brighter future.

Contestants were evaluated on three crucial criteria: originality, relevance to the theme, and the impact of their delivery, ensuring a thorough assessment of their contributions.

The event concluded on a gracious note, with Nilakshi extending a heartfelt vote of thanks to all involved, followed by a collective rendition of the national anthem, serving as a reminder of our shared values and unity.
