NSS Foundation Day

Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji Govt Degree College in Paonta Sahib celebrated NSS Foundation Day on September 23, 2023, with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was meticulously conducted by NSS volunteers Varsha, a student from BA 3rd year, and Sakshi, a student from BA 2nd year, who warmly welcomed the esteemed Chief Guest, Sh. Vibhav Kumar Shukla, the Principal of Govt College Paonta Sahib.

The celebration saw the presence of esteemed faculty members Mr. Vivek Negi, Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Prathibha Chaudhary, Rekha Devi, Sheetal Sharma, Kiran Bala, Mr. Ashraf Ali, and others.The function commenced with the traditional Lamp Lighting ceremony, followed by the soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the NSS volunteers. Dr. Jaichand, the NSS Programme Officer, formally welcomed the Chief Guest.To infuse the true spirit of the NSS movement, Komal and her group presented the NSS Lakshya Geet, touching the hearts of numerous youngsters.

A comprehensive PowerPoint presentation was delivered by NSS Programme Officer Nandini Kanwar, highlighting the various impactful activities undertaken by the volunteers during the session 2022-2023.

The cultural extravaganza continued with Ranjana and her group performing a spirited Jaunsari dance, while Ankita and her group enthralled the audience with a vibrant Bhangra performance. Gaurav and Priya's group captivated the crowd with a Nukkad Natak on "Swatchata hi Sewa Hai," emphasizing the importance of cleanliness.

Yoginder, a dedicated NSS volunteer, presented a melodious solo singing performance, enthralling the audience with his talent. The event also featured a lively Natti performance by Meenu and her group.The certificates were distributed to the dedicated volunteers who participated in the NSS seven-day camps during the Jan 2023 and June 2022.

In his address to the students, Principal Vibhav Kumar Shukla commended the volunteers for their exemplary work in the previous sessions. He encouraged the volunteers to channelize their energy in the right direction, steer clear of negative influences, and continue their commendable work for the betterment of society.

Dr. Jaichand presented the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The program concluded on a patriotic note with the collective singing of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and love for the nation. The celebration was a testament to the spirit of community service and volunteerism upheld by the NSS at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji Govt Degree College.
