On October 13, 2023, a vital awareness lecture on Dengue prevention and control was organized at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Ji Government College in Paonta Sahib. The event was marked by the presence of distinguished Guest speaker Dr. Bhagat, the Chief Medical Officer of Rajpur, and Mr. Kanihiya Lal, Health Supervisor, along with their dedicated team.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Jai Chand, the NSS Programme Officer, who introduced the esteemed guests and emphasized the significance of raising awareness about Dengue among the college community with increasing dengue cases in the city.

Dr. Bhagat, the Chief Medical Officer of Rajpur, highlighted the alarming increase in Dengue cases within the city and stressed the urgency of taking preventive measures. He discussed the symptoms of Dengue, emphasizing that anyone experiencing fever should promptly undergo testing without delay. Furthermore, he cautioned against self-medication or using over-the-counter drugs, emphasizing the need for professional medical guidance.

Dr. Bhagat underscored the importance of community efforts in eradicating the vectors responsible for Dengue. He encouraged volunteers to designate one day per week as a "dry day" when they would inspect their homes and surrounding areas to ensure that no stagnant water accumulates, thereby breaking the cycle of the disease.

During this informative session, several college faculty members and officials were in attendance, including Officiating Principal Dr. Ritu Pant, Prof. Sulakshana, and Prof. Khatri Ram Tomar. Additionally, NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Jai Chand and Prof. Nandini Kanwar were present to show their support for the event.

The event concluded with Prof. Nandini Kanwar extending a vote of thanks to the guests and participants for their active involvement in this essential initiative. The session ended on a patriotic note, with everyone standing for the national anthem.This lecture served as a significant step towards raising awareness and building a community ready to take collective action against Dengue, safeguarding the health and well-being of the region.
